Abbey Extrusion Workers do the triple!

Wednesday, 6th of February, 2008

The commitment of three employees with an impressive 60 years collective service was recognized by Abbey Extrusion based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch recently.

Three employees joined the company with no prior industrial experience in 1987.  They have continued to embrace on- going organizational changes – part of Abbey Extrusions ability to succeed in a competitive market.

Offering his thanks, Managing Director, Bryan Cowan said that the service they had given represented “The service they have given represents a high standard, this kind of commitment to a UK based manufacturing company is now virtually unachievable within modern day working styles”.

Keith Heward, Rob Hutton and Mark Toon said that they had never really intended to say so long with one employer but had been “overtaken by the years slipping by together with the good working relationships built whilst at Abbey Extrusions”.  It is not unusual for employees to stay long term at Abbey Extrusions because of the relaxed yet hardworking culture that appeals to employees.

Ex – miner, Keith commented that he has seen many changes at Abbey Extrusions and they have all been positive.  Rob said that he had no idea where the years had gone since leaving Burton Brewery, but looked forward to working with the company in the future.  Mark, who joined the company from Gateway Plastics, furthered his knowledge and experience in the plastics industry and has enjoyed his time with Abbey Extrusions.

Bryan Cowan thanked the three employees for their valuable contribution and said they are great members of staff who have a flexible attitude to work and understand the needs of the business. Abbey Extrusions have operated for over 23 years and continue to invest in staff and expect the highest standards for customers.

Company celebrations included the presentation of a cake and gifts.
